I can see why this book is liked, but I honestly couldn't get into it, despite how short it is. The main two characters (ignoring the pov character) are solid, and the way in which the book is written is extremely well put, yet at the same time it feels so pretentious in the way it describes things that it begins to drag on and on, especially as there isn't really any particularly strong twist past the comparison between the first woman who elopes and the main character of the book.

All in all, it's not a bad story, but I didn't enjoy reading it.
