Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books by Azar Nafisi

5.0

Very relevant considering what is going on in Iran with the killing and Hajab wearing. The author describes through her teaching of literary books in Iran during different parts of Iran's most recent history pre 1978/9 revolution and the challenge the revolution has had in painting a picture of open vs. restrictive teaching and morality (Morality police). She gets into discussing Gatsby, James, Mr. Darcy among others, just like being in a post graduate class. This book is must read!
