Elizabeth Acevedo on audio is as good as everyone says, and I seldom listen to audio books. I love a good YA coming of age story, and this one sucked me in. I was rooting for Xiomara 100% and her concerns were mine.
When her mom lit her journal of poems on fire, I wanted to jump into the story and save them.
I also found X's questions about and ambivalence towards Catholicism thoughtful and interesting. Highly recommend! I'm on to my next Acevedo soon.
