Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow

5.0

//TW: Self harm, drug used, attempted suicide, alcoholism, abused etc

Charlotte Davis(Charlie,Silent Sue), a girl in pieces. At seventeen, she has already been through more than most people do in a lifetime. It's all about how she copes with her losses by forgetting and numbing her pain with self-harm.

This powerful book explores the harsh realities of physical and emotional survival. Charlie finds solace in her art. Her drawings become a language all their own, a way to express the beauty within her despite the pain she has endured.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster. I can't even count how many times I had to take a break and catch my breath. The way charlie endures her pain in front of others is just heartbreaking. It's like she's carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders.

"I'm Frankenstein. I'm the Scarred Girl."

If you're looking for a read that will make you feel all the feels, this is definitely the one for you. Be prepared to feel all the feels. Trust me, you'll need some tissues handy.
