I believe I have found my first 5 star read of 2025. I don't read a lot of sci fi thrillers. Therefore, I didn't really know what to expect when I started reading this book. Also, I went into this book somewhat blind and I think that was a good choice. For those who find the concept of parallel universes intriguing, give this book a try.

I've only ever read Summer Frost by Blake Crouch so I shouldn't feel this surprised by his writing. But, wow, I'm still so impressed by how deep and emotionally aware everything feels.

This book made me ponder on a lot of things. Some of which is the fact that how sure are we that our loved ones love our current self? What if they prefer a much smarter and more driven version of me? That's a scary thought isn't it? But the central theme is basically that you shouldn't regret the path not taken. At the end of the day, life goes on and you should make the best of it.
