The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl by Issa Rae

3.0

This is a great story of a person who struggles and resists the fact that she is an introvert, a geek and socially awkward -- until she decides to own and embrace it (hence the creation and success of Awkward Black Girl). I enjoyed some chapter essays more than others- mostly due to my interest in the topic, i.e there was a bit too much high school era stuff for me. I think she's a talented writer and performer and look forward to what else she will do in the future.
