Nightingale House by Steve Frech
4.0
4/5 stars
This is blurbed for fans of Haunting of Hill House and that is spot on if you ask me. A solid haunted house story. I decided to read this on a whim and I'm so glad I did.
This follows Daniel and Caitlyn, a father and daughter, who move into an old (and super haunted) house after the death of Caitlyn's mother in a tragic car accident. Daniel's POV alternates with journal entries from the 1900s written by a teenage girl who knew the original family who lived in the house.
I loved this. All the spooky season feels. Also really loved the journal chapters, the historic aspect was the cherry on top for me. Highly reccommend if you're looking for something a little ghosty to read.
