The Cello Suites by Eric Siblin

A reminder: it's not easy to write non-fiction book. The author has an interesting subject, well-researched, and has taken pains to structure and organize the information (to follow the flow of the cello suites and interweave the stories of composer J.S. Bach, cellist Pablo Casals, and the author's own personal journey of exploring the cello and the cello suites). It's a ponderous read, however. It never settles into the rhythm of telling one cohesive story. Perhaps there are too many threads. Still, the subject is interesting and it's fun to read about the suites while listening to them.
