The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton

The book is well written and it shows all the useless and hypocritical rules that society expects from people to follow, but I have to say it was hard to read.

It's not the author's fault, because I get all the context she tried to explain, it's just that I really disliked Newland Archer. The man is the definition of hypocrisy and of course, like a man with infinite self esteem, puts the blame of his choices on everything but himself and his cowardice. He makes a choice to marry a woman knowing he loves another woman, so he chose to ruin their lives and spend all his life weeping. This guy was a huge waste of May and Elen time.
