Let me start by saying that I do not recommend listening to the audiobook for this one. There was no emotional tone to the narration, so even in times of high stress, fear, or sadness; it all sounded very flat and made me feel detached from what was happening in the story.
As far as the book itself and focusing solely on the writing of the author, I would probably have rated this book 4 stars. The storyline is engaging as it's being told from a present day perspective with flashbacks to the past, and the atmosphere created by the author kept me feeling unsettled and on edge. I can't really say much as far as the characters go because the narration had me so disconnected.
Thank you to the Libro.fm Librarian ALC program, Thomas Nelson, and the author for this complimentary Audiobook Listening Copy.
