I feel like this book is a necessary read in the series since it helps explain some of the background vampire lore and thralls, but there wasn’t too much “plot.” The book was primarily focused on Amos’ and Tessa’s relationship (which that itself was so fun to read!). The other books felt like they had a much stronger side plot of action. Besides loving the love story of Amos and Tessa falling in love, I am a little worried the story is a bit forgettable.

The romance between Amos and Tessa was just so wholesome. Why can’t every man be as sweet as Amos? He was genuinely the perfect mix of protective and gentleman.

Tessa was so relatable with having an overbearing parent. The “emotional prison” of being at home with a parent who relies on their child for everything is too real. That hit hard.
