This feels like a really important book. It's not an easy read, and hits close to home especially if you're from Alberta or the Maritimes. But I would encourage anyone who grew up with the stories about the oil sands to read this and see a fuller and more nuanced picture of life there. A real accomplishment by Kate Newton.
