Judith Kerr was/is one of our favourite children’s authors.

This book was recommended to me as a good book to introduce tweens and teens to this historical period.

I didn’t realise that this was slightly autobiographical. This was such a great and interesting story and I’m glad her life in the war wasn’t as awful as it could have been.

It was very cool to see how she began writing and what events shaped that. Especially because her father was an author that Hitler specifically targeted.

This is definitely one of those books that could be covered in school. There’s some great discussion topics that could be used in class.
