The book started out good, like any other M/Ts I usually read, mysterious like [b:Gone Girl|19288043|Gone Girl|Gillian Flynn|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1554086139l/19288043._SY75_.jpg|13306276] with unreliable narrator but then it becomes like a whodunit novel a la Sherlock Holmes, complete with police interviews in every chapter. OMG *roll eyes* wouldn't start the book if I know it was this way!
Anyway I just had to know the real reason behind everything so I keep plowing on even though I can't stand some of the aspect. I wonder if the author wrote it this way to exaggerate the Srilankan aspect of it or that's just how she writes? I need to check her other novel to be sure.
The mystery and confusion was magnified in certain scenes and the ending was a bit forced if I may say so but I've finished it at least. So, that's another title addition to my reading list for the year. Glad I tried.
