And Two Boys Booed by Judith Viorst
3.0

And Two Boys Booed, by Judith Viorst, is a story about building confidence, told through the experience one boy has when competing in his classroom's talent contest. Fearful that his singing doesn't measure up against the impressive skills he observes in some of his classmates who can dance, recite poetry, and juggle, the boy summons his courage and starts his song, only to have occur what the book's title tells you. But they are only two boys booing. With simple, sensitive, and signature Sophie Blackall illustrations that are given clever flipping flaps for further reveals, this book is absolutely charming.
