Tempting the Bride by Sherry Thomas

4.0

Okay, this was really good! I really disliked Ravishing the Heiress, but my favorite supporting character in that book was Hastings. You got the sense that he was a scoundrel with a heart of gold. It was lovely to read about his unrequited love and HEA. It made up for all things I didn’t like in the previous book!

The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star, was that I wish it had been a little longer and we could have spent more time on their relationship development.  It took me a while to warm up to Helena. Yes, Hastings was an idiot for not being honest about his feelings (that seems to be a running theme in this series) but Helena wasn’t exactly the most approachable person, and she came across as pretty insufferable in the beginning. But she did get her shit together and I loved that she was an independent woman who started her own publishing company!

Bonus points for Hasting’s lovely and beautiful relationship with his little girl, and his secret talent as a wonderful artist and writer.

 I highly recommend!
