Present tense/ first person, written like a teenager hoping to sound older and mature. Tried to be deep but fell flat. Extremely cringe. I was interested in the Iranian background and somehow ended up reading whitewashed pop lit with some weak-ass romance. Just such a mess. I really wanted to like this. And I know it’s fiction, but none of this story was believable except for
