I can’t explain the euphoria I felt to pick this book up on the day it was FINALLY published. I’ve been watching the publication date for years. I was not too invested in the plot, as much as I was just so excited to get to spend time with my friends. I have so missed them all!
This book really honors all of our favorite characters from Outlander. Even ones that have previously died are at least mentioned and honored which warmed my heart. Also villains of previous books are mentioned too- which I think really honors the series.
I also continue to enjoy the references to time: toilets, plastic (yuck), Dr. Seuss, Merck Manual, PB&J
I really tried to savor and enjoy the read but halfway through the book there was great foreshadowing of the end… and it became harder to enjoy when my
Stomach was in knots. I do feel a sadness tho as I completed the book and will have to live in anticipation for the next one.
