The Silent Wife by Karin Slaughter

Pulls you right in!

I was gifted this book as a “blind date with a book” as a Christmas gift. Not going to lie, the length of the book has been second guessing reading it but I’m so glad I did! This is a “Will Trent book 10” and I was worried I’d be lost without reading the other books. While there are some things that are mentioned happening in the past and not fully explained (I’m assuming the are explained in the other book) it doesn’t effect the reading of this book.
I was sucked right into the story line and couldn’t put the book down. I enjoyed the dual timeline, showing both sides of the story and giving you insight of things happening. This story really grips your attention and while there’s a lot of detail, it’s not overwhelming. I could reread this book and pick up on things I missed but Still get the full effect in one reading. I liked that terms were explained and when using “police talk” in the story, it was usually followed with an explanation of what that meant in lay mans terms.
Over all this books was a great read and I hope to add the other books to my list here soon!
Great plot lines, great characters, a twist at the end I didn’t see coming until closer to the end!
