Wicked Bite by Jeaniene Frost

5.0

Damn. DAMN! DAAAAMMMN!
Dammit, that was good! Edge of my seat good. Nail-biting good. Reading in the dark with a Dollar Tree flashlight, so I don't wake up the baby good.
The underlying messages of self-worth, acceptance, and race were prevalent in this one.

"If they were here, their species and others wanted them dead for reasons that practically amounted to "You're different, so you scare me." Funny how those same people rarely paused to consider how terrifying they were, handing down death sentences from their positions of power or privilege."

This brought to mind every time a police officer IRL shoots an unarmed POC and claimed they "feared for their lives".
The banter between Ian and Veritas is everything I ever wanted in a book. But that ending! Good Gods!!!!!!
Thank you Goodreads & Jeaniene Frost, for choosing me to win this ARC! Although I am sad to know I have to wait even longer for the next book. *crying real tears*

-UPDATE-
Yes, I read the book already, but I HAVE to listen to it too. I can't let Tavia Gilbert down, can I?
