“My pride warned me it was going to be hard. My nerves warned me it was going to be scary. But my heart . . . my heart whispered it was going to be worth it.”
I have been patiently waiting for Maddox’s story and it was worth all the anticipation. Maddox has been a really intriguing side character for a long time, but he finally got his MMC moment, and it was a great one! Surprise pregnancy/marriage of convenience with “the one who got away” AND a royal storyline? I absolutely ate this up. Lennon is our princess FMC who has been betrothed to a man she can’t stand for years. As the wedding approaches, she heads to Kroydon Hills to visit her best friend only to immediately cross paths with the only man she ever loved but could never have. After one unexpected night with Maddox, she returns to her normal life of duty to the crown… until a few months later when a positive pregnancy test (or twelve) blows it all up. This book was about fighting for the life you want and choosing happiness, which was such a great message. I LOVED it.
