Scythe by Neal Shusterman

5.0

In a future where humanity has concurred death, and the world on run by an all knowing super computer Thunderhead, Scythes an elite and highly trained group of people kill to keep the population under control.

Citra and Rowan are chosen, much to their chagrin, to be Scythes apprentices. As we learn more about the order, the rules of the world, and the players: we learn that some Scythes are better then others. What is to be done when a Scythe with blood lust rises to power?

Incredibly creative and imaginative- very interesting and believable vision of the future. Great characters. Perfect stakes. A thrilling and exciting read! Also while it's the first of a series, it totally works as a stand alone.
