Lila by Marilynne Robinson

5.0

I loved this addition to the Gilead stories. It is lyrical, visceral, intimate. It was a Christmas present I started reading right away and did not want to put down. Lila, who seemed like such a flat character in the other books - viewed so entirely through the projections of others she seems like a literally 2-dimensional person, a screen-shaped figure - becomes human, her wounds and limitations visible.
