Whew! This book made me feel all sorts of uncomfy. And I can’t tell if that js good or bad. This is between 4 and 5 stars for me. I’m not sure how I felt about the ending. I know what is implied. But I feel like Whitney was just so hateable that I really would’ve liked to see that situation played out more. Not sure I’ve ever disliked a character more. I felt for Mara’s character a lot. I think she was a much needed balance in the book, yet she too had “skeletons in her closet” so to speak. I do love this authors work. And as much as I am interested in the themes that occur in this book, as well as in “the push,” I do hope her next book steps out of that realm a bit.
