beautiful art, but that almost doesn’t need to be said. this was so strange and beautiful in a distinctly miyazaki way. i love folktale stories like this, i just wish there had been more of everything, more from the characters, more resolution! but i also understand that’s not what the book is/was trying to do. definitely recommend reading if you like studio ghibli films
