This was a sweet, lighthearted book to read. This is the kind of book you read when you're in need of a bit of comfort. The characters are delightful and vivid, the plot is fun, and the ending was sweet. I enjoyed it, but I had a few issues with the book that made me rate it three stars. First, I found Mary's naivete about Alex's flirting with her to be a bit much, she seems to be able to recognize other people flirting with her or with other people, so the fact that she didn't recognize that he was into her, right up until they kissed was something I found to be a bit farfetched. Second, I didn't like how rushed the ending felt. There was all this build-up to the conflict between Mary, her friends, and Alex, and the resolutions to this felt very quick. Also, I really wished that we got more time with Alex and Mary. I love how much of the book focused on the friendship between Lydia, Arden, Terry, and Mary, but I really would've loved more scenes with just Alex and Mary. They're adorable together, I just wanted more time with them.
