I was excited to read this book because I enjoy WWII history and the story of Jan and Antonina's life sounded so interesting but Diane Ackerman's writing made it hard to get through. While the story was interesting overall it was very slow and there were many tangents throughout the book not related to the story. I won't be reading any more of her books.
