Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer

5.0

As I re-listened to Braiding Sweetgrass this spring, Robin Wall Kimmerer's words and voice humble me. I took to listening to this book on walks in the woods, where I came to feel that I was in her classroom with her. Her ideas joined the root system of the way I think about pretty much everything: connecting to our shared relationship with the land teaches us reciprocity + interdependence; appreciation begets abundance; it is our gratitude and our commitment that makes the gifts. An implicit invitation by RWK: getting into deep relationship with the land we are on is an essential step in being in right relationship with ourselves and others. 5 stars
