I loved reading Amelia Bedelia books as a kid. The humor in the books all comes from taking language literally—"draw the drapes" and "dress the chicken" are examples of things Amelia Bedelia takes literally and, of course, hilarity ensues. Fun way of showing kids how writing and reading and playing with words can be fun.
