Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King
5.0

This has been my favourite in the series so far and can't wait to continue with the last two books. I am sad it's coming to an end but definitely been an experience getting to know the Ka-tet and go on the journey. The action in this book is what I wished for in The Gunslinger which I did not enjoy probably my least favourite closely followed by Wizards and Glass.

In this book, the Ka-tet take a detour to help out in the city of Calla Byrne Sturgis where every 23 years or so children are captured by the "wolves" and when or if the children return they aren't quite the same as when they left Calla Byrne Sturgis. I also feel that people (I haven't myself yet) that have read Salems Lot would have a good appreciation for this book as it continues to tell a character's ending that I am assuming we didn't get to know what happened too.

I really enjoyed the world traveling and how it was done and didn't feel like something had to be just made up on the spot to allow them to travel. What I also really enjoyed was getting to see Jake be a kid again getting excited to have sleepovers with his friends but also still being a true gunslinger.

Trying to keep this spoiler free but definetly again one of Stephen Kings better endings in my opinion, it just made me want to go over and pick up Songs of Suannah straight away because I want to know how it continues and find out what happens next.
