The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars Library Edition by Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino
4.0
This book is a good follow up to the end of TLOK, it starts immediately off with Korra and Asami in the spirit world. *Not going to treat korrasami like a spoiler bc I think everyone in the ATLA fandom knows they end up together* I liked how this book treated their relationship, and it was fun seeing all the characters reacting to their relationship. There was no cheap conflict of their friends being grossed out that two girls were dating. It just made me really happy that everyone was accepting of Korra and Asami.
Speaking of characters I feel that everyone's characters survived the screen to page transition well except for Korra in certain points. I feel like Korra reverted slightly back to her fight first ask questions later self in this book but I'm willing to excuse it bc that only happened
This book really just felt like another couple of episodes of the show, which is a good thing! It was funny but it also had stakes. And I got to see all my favorite characters again besides Su and Kuvira.
Tokuga gave me Kaz Brekker vibes bc of his haircut and the fact that he runs a gang.
It felt odd to me that this book was about mainly about gangs with a bit of spirit stuff mixed in considering the super high stakes of season 4 of the show. Spoilers for season 4 of TLOK.
There was ALOT going on in this book, like a lot. I could go on and on and on. I didn't really mind tho, probably bc I was so eager to know what happened after the end of season 4.
I liked this book a lot and I would definitely read it again. I was glad it had the Korrasami content that Nickelodeon was too cowardly to give. Can't wait until Ruins of the Empire(September 29th!!!)

Like where is Kuvira? Is she in prison? What kind of prison is she in, cause you know, metal. How is she mentally after Korra spared her? What happened to the Earth Empire after Kuvira surrendered? Is the country still in its fascist state or is Wu making reforms? There was ALOT going on in this book, like a lot.

So many plot threads, spirits mad, Korrasmai relationship, new spirit portal, tokuga getting infused with a spirit, elections for president(Raiko vs Zhu Li), refugees after events of season 4, proto-Walt Disney trying to make the spirit portal into a theme park, airbenders defending it, Iroh II and Untied republic army being there.I liked this book a lot and I would definitely read it again.
