Who Was Rosa Parks?
by Yona Zeldis McDonough, Who HQ
informative
reflective
medium-paced
This book provides an excellent, clear summary of Rosa Parks' life. Although it misses some details because of the middle-grade focus, I found it still addressed many nuances in her life. It also identifies racism with straightforward definitions and clear statements. The images are well done and help to keep the reader intrigued.
I teach at an ESL school, and this book is one of the favourites across all classes. Highly recommended for children and adults alike.
