The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas
3.5

Joyful friends, mostly loyal, they hadn't abandoned their protector before the gathering storm; and despite the threatening sky, despite the shuddering earth, they remained, smiling, considerate, and as devoted to misfortune as they had been to prosperity.

This quote (from the man in the iron mask not t3m) is the ideal that I held the musketeers to before I read this book and found out that they actually all suck and milady is the slayest character.

I'll stick to that campy movie with all the hotties playing the musketeers and theres airships for some reason as my canon musketeer tale.
