People Like Her by Ellery Lloyd

3.0

Few years before we haven't even heard about the term "influencers". But today, since social media has become inseparable from our day to day lifestyle, influencing has become an actual job, a well paid one.

Emmy is an Instamum. Her husband Dan doesn't think much about it at the beginning. But Emmy posts everything about her family and the things suddenly starts to go downhill.

This novel talks about many facts about instagram: especially the dark sides of it. How their privacy is put at risk, how their kids' lives are made public. And what consequences they have to face because of that.

And also the novel talks about what it can do to followers. How influencers affect their followers. How somethings an influencer doesn't think much about can affect a follower.

I wish this novel was properly edited. It was repititive and the structure was somewhat confusing. I also think as this book talks about miscarriages and fertility problems, the book should've given a warning about it at the beginning. Overall , the novel has a great contemporary concept for a thriller, but there is room for improvement.
