A Salty Piece of Land by Jimmy Buffett
3.0

“There is no reverse on the road of life, Tully. You just keep moving forward, and every now and then you try to catch a little neutral.”

I will start off by saying this book wasn’t bad. I went through waves of being invested in the story and wanting it to be over already. I do not feel it had to be nearly 500 pages long. It definitely could have done the job while being 300-350 pages. There was a lot going on in this book. One second you were following Tully, next thing you know some person he meets is giving them their life story that is 5 pages long. This happened multiple times. It took me nearly three weeks to get through it. The book also bounced around a lot with timeline, you are in the future then in the past then the present, and then someone is sharing some long winded story and confuses you even more. This was my first Jimmy Buffett book, I am obviously a fan of the music. Overall, this book was very average and I am honestly glad it’s finally over.
