This book had me hooked, I started at 12am and did not finish till 5am. I was hooked into this book trying to unravel this mystery with the breadcrumbs it left. This is my second book from this author, and this is my favorite one so far. The writing and pacing had me gripped. This is a sad book about how often little black children can go missing without even a second thought and does give a good depiction of how broken our children protective services system is.

Why I took away stars was the confusing timeline, I never knew where we were in time, but it was so good that I just kept reading to try and figure it all out.
Also the choice behind Claudia having amnesia and everyone going along with it was an interesting choice and it fell a little flat to me. Like it took away from the shock of what did happen to Monday. Additionally, the co-dependent relationship between the 2 girls, Claudia was possessive and i'm not sure of why just because of the dyslexia?
Despite my little issues this was a great read and one I will linger with me.
