A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan
5.0
I fell in love with this book. The writing style reminded me of The Imperfections by Tom Rachman which I read for Lit Lawvers a couple of months ago. I was worried at first because the writing style in The Imperfectionists caused a big disconnect for me as a reader and I felt myself unable to attach to the various intertwining stories. Egan however grabbed me with each and every story she presented. I loved her ability to create different narrating voices for each character; some of the chapters were incredibly creative. I also loved the story line and loved how each chapter gave the reader a glimpse into the future or a bridge to the next character. This is definitely one of my favorite reads of the year.
