Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult
3.0
I didnt want to put down. I tore through this book, about a man falsely accused of raping a girl and then once he's done his time, ends up being falsely accused once again, by a town that was out for blood the moment they learned his backstory.
I felt like some of the characters were introduce but weren't given enough time to get to know them, but that would be my only complaint. There is a massive whopper of a "oh my God" moment that occurs in the last paragraph that I felt should have been addressed before that and maybe warranted a couple more pages, but it made me think back over things I'd read that didn't necessary make sense before and then all the sudden came together after reading the last paragraph...things like that. These unexpected twists are what I think Jodi Picoult does best and I love that about her books. This book, I didnt feel like it had the same surprised ending as others, but I still enjoyed it.
