Spoiler The relief I felt when I realized we only had two chapters left and we wouldn't drag the end. We got the happiness we deserve. Matsubu's story was cute but the epilogue? EXACTLY what I deserved after waiting for these two goobers to get it together and date.

Overall, this series is the best way to tackle a teen romance-inclined coming of age story. With a small, but well developed cast, this succeeds in feeling authentic and earnest. The characters felt real because they all tried to be good people, even when they did shitty things it was believable. SO many stories think "realism" means having cardboard characters who will ALWAYS default to being the worst they can be to others. Often, that is not the case. Often, no one wants to be the bad guy but people will inevitably get hurt when you deal with love and romances for the first time.

The characters were really cute, and some even stood out to me. I was invested as I read, which I did not expect. I went into this as a grown lady who can get bored reading about "teenagers" written by adults who are so out of touch.

Strobe Edge brought me back. The intensity, the friends, even down to this being set when I was younger. (Though, obviously set in Japan, not the US.)

I think the central romance was well done, and was impressed by the side relationships developing (especially with friendships). It was a good time. :)
