This was my first time reading a romantic suspense, and I was really unsure about how I would feel as I normally like to read for the warm + fuzzy feelings and this was definitely a bit darker than I initially expected it to be. BUT- I absolutely LOVED it I devoured this book, loved the characters and Catherine’s writing. Rho and Ansel were the perfect first story of this series it was gripping and interesting and fast paced and twisty in all the right ways! The tropes in the book were done so well, the story was not written around them but instead the story wove together these complex characters with personality’s that fit so well into things like grumpy X sunshine. I also am SO interested in literally every other character in this book, it was done so well and I was invested in their story and the mystery and romance that was woven in seamlessly. Will be reading more ASAP!!
