ndevineni 's review for:
The Cactus
by Sarah Haywood
I feel bad giving this book 1 star because the concept was there, but the execution failed. I never really understood the main character's desire to keep the baby when she believed in organization/structure so much, but whatever. The reason that I give this book 1 star is that Rob asked to move in with Susan without ever even kissing her or spending a significant amount of time with her.
Susan's character arc didn't feel natural at all. Her transformation into a "normal person" felt so sudden. The whole book she's like ' I'm independent and I'll never commit to anyone ' and then moves in with Rob at the end? I just feel like I never understood why she changed. The only reason that I can think of that caused this shift in her personality was having a kid.
