It's hard to describe what I did and did not like about this book. The writing was elegant and kept me engaged despite tackling such a difficult topic. It gives such a unique perspective of what it was like to live in China during the one-child policy.  Yet there were parts where I got a bit lost, especially in the last "book" of the novel. I'd still overall recommend picking this book up and giving it a go.
