Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid

5.0

A fellow budding romance writer recommend this book as my introduction into the world of Penny Reid. I now owe them a bottle of something bubbly. They lamented, that they envied me because I had the joy of experiencing her work for the first time. I laughed. But after reading the story I totally get where she is coming from. I actually delayed finishing the book for 3 days because I didn't want the story to end. A bit weird right? Luckily there are more "smart romances" to devour in the Knitting in the City series.

I dove in on the advice of my friend knowing nothing of the story. It surprised, delighted (yes I said delighted) and entertained me. I found myself craving (much like Quinn) the lead character Janie's next obsessive factoid-driven fountain of thoughts. She's smart, she's funny and I kinda want to be her friend.

Go read it now. I envy you the joy of getting to experience the story for the first time.
