The Team That Managed Itself: A Story of Leadership by Christina Wodtke

medium-paced

4.0

I think this book will have different lessons for different people reading it. Part of that is just because different people will have different dysfunctions within their teams. Part of it is because of how the book is laid out.

The book is broken into two parts. The first part is a fable story about a team going from dysfunctional to a well-run team. The second part is a dryer section on the tools, techniques, and advice that was put forward in the fable.

I personally enjoyed the fable quite a bit, and enjoyed putting the lessons into a narrative. Other members of my book club didn't care for it though. For me, the specific tools, while useful, weren't as important as the broad lessons put forward in the book.
