Return of the Mummy by R.L. Stine

2.0

Currently rereading my original Goosebumps collection

The sequel to The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb. Gabe returns to Cairo to visit his cousin Sari and his uncle Ben, who is close to discovering an ancient sacred tomb. But when Gabe discovers a secret chant that supposedly wakes the dead, can he resist?

This book just seems like a rehash of the first. There weren't any new or interesting ideas which haven't already been done in previous books of the series. I was disappointed that there were hardly any references to the plot of the first book. It just makes it seem like 'Oh yeah, none of that stuff in the original book actually happened.'
Also, the writing felt rushed and lazy. I have to say though that I didn't see the big twist coming (I can't say too much without ruining it), and I did get a little lesson in history.
