part fairy-tale, part queer manifesto, with beautiful illustrations - this fun, short little book comes from the commune movement of the 1970s, written post-stonewall and pre-AIDS crisis of the 80s. in the best way possible, feels like sitting around the campfire with your queer elder in their rocking chair as they tell you about their wild youth "back in my day" and drop life-changing nuggets of life wisdom on you. there's so much hope and imagination in this tale of defiant love and solidarity as it dreams of a revolutionary future, of "tasty orgasm juice" for all, of winning the war against "the men," and of winning the freedom to live, fuck and play - for the faggots, the queens, the queers, the women, and all their friends <3
