Sherlock Holmes and the Telegram from Hell by Nicholas Meyer
2.5
It was okay. Should I come across another of these books, I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up. I wonder how Meyer's plot would work without the conceit of Holmes and Watson. What if Meyer had created a spy novel without the constraints of the Holmesian framework? Although I don't dislike Holmes, I've never found him particularly that compelling of a character; I enjoy the mysteries, and Holmes and Watson were convenient conveyors of the plots.
It was a little slow--two too many twists
