The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee

4.0

WOW! What happens when you have a futuristic setting mixed with murder, drugs, immense wealth, and a whole lot of drama? GOSSIP GIRL FROM THE FUTURE! I personally would explain this as the birth child of gossip girl, Pretty Little Liars, and the Private series by Kate Brian. How could you possibly ask for more?

The Thousandth Floor is told from the perspective of 5 teenagers; Avery, Rylin, Eris, Watt, and Leda. Each of them live within the tower of New York, during the year 2118. This tower is like a vertical city. Everything you could possibly imagine can be found within the thousand floor building. Just like the districts of New York today, there is very obvious wealth classes. The thousandth floor being the wealthiest (Avery), anything between 999 and 700 is rich (Eris and Leda), and anything under 300 is poor (Watt and Rylin). Each character is some how connected to one another... whether it's romantic, friendship, or criminal. But when someone falls from Avery's top floor penthouse during a party, everyone has to face their past mistakes... and either deal with the consequences or keep quiet.

How did this person end up dead? Who is responsible for their death? What secrets is everyone
willing to keep in order to save their own ass?

Long story short, READ THIS BOOK. LIKE NOW. I literally couldn't put it down! The author does such a great job at involving small futuristic details, which makes the story that much more interesting! I personally loved hearing about the drugs that were being taken! Like who could come up with such unique details such as that? I also liked reading about what the "average rich teenager" is like in 2118 compared to the present (spoiler: they are still entitled snobs.. just with better amenities). I am already reading the second book! Yet another great book by Katherine McGee. I almost like this one more than American Royals.... almost!
