Dark, depraved, and hot are three things that you can always expect in a Lauren Biel novel, her dark hitchhiker romance series in particular, and Across State Lines was no exception. You follow Kane, a man with DID and a knack for murderous behavior, who meets an Aurora, a young woman running from her past. Their struggle between the two main characters to find sense in a series of chaos was perfection. The way in which I hated these characters, only to love them dearly by the last page says so much about this author’s character development. Heed triggers!
