Tom Waits on Tom Waits: Interviews and Encounters by Paul Maher Jr.

funny informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

5.0

This is another one of my favorite biographies. Tom Waits was always someone I half-enjoyed while my dad had him playing in the car, but this book made me a devoted convert. It's so fun getting to see Waits develop his persona over the span of his career, going from a crusty, unwashed, bourbon-soaked tramp of a nighthawk to a folklorish and biblically devilish fever dream weaver. It also inspired me to always be open to experimenting in my creative endeavors. I highly recommend.
